Description: ACDP Deputy President

ACDP DEPUTY PRESIDENT:

Wayne M. Thring

Mr Thring joined the ACDP in 1995 after being invited to an ACDP meeting at the Mariannridge Community Hall. He was then elected to the position of Deputy Chairman in KZN and subsequently to the position of Chairman in 1997, a position he held for over 10 years. He was later elected to the position of Provincial Leader and is currently the ACDP’s Deputy President.
Wayne represented the ACDP in the Ethekwini Metro as Councillor between 2000 and 2013. There, he held the position of ACDP Whip and Caucus Leader, and was a member of the Economic and Development Committee. He was one of the longest serving Councillors on that committee (over 11 years). The ACDP earned the respect of all political parties in the Ethekwini Metro, and continues to hold its own against the bigger parties in terms of debates, motions to Council, and the various other inputs they make. As of June 2013 to November 2013 Wayne joined our MPs, Cheryllyn Dudley and Steve Swart, in Cape Town as our third Member of the National Assembly. He holds the position of ACDP Parliamentary Leader and his Portfolio Committees and interests include: Economic Development and Trade and Industry.  Presently Wayne is representing the ACDP in the eThekweni Municipality as the Caucus Leader.

NATIONAL EXECUTIVE

Description: Mrs. Jo-Ann Downs

NEC CHAIRMAN:

Jo-Ann Downs

Jo-Ann has a Masters degree in Public Policy and Management, which she has used to good effect on Finance and Public Accounts committees. As the former chairperson of the KZN Public Accounts committee, she was in fact so effective in this post, that she was ‘relieved’ of her duties by the ruling party for doing too much to expose mismanagement and corruption. As one of the very early ACDP members in 1993, and former Deputy president of the ACDP, Jo-Ann has served many roles within the party, on both a provincial and national level. She was elected to the role of National Chairman in 2010.

He strongly believes that ACDP is the only political party that would bring about the establishment of a Godly Governance in SA. He has served as Branch and regional chairman, Deputy Chairman of Gauteng PC, Provincial Chairman of Gauteng PEC and currently the National Secretary General of ACDP.
